Transforming the Route 36 Gateway to Hornell

Union Concrete is completing Phase 1 of NYSDOT’s Route 36 Gateway Corridor Project in Hornell, reconstructing the corridor from Adsit Street to Webbs Crossing Road. The project combines major roadway reconstruction with bridge, drainage, pedestrian, and multimodal improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and long-term transportation infrastructure. The work includes extensive coordination of roadway and structural construction while maintaining this important transportation connection throughout the multi-year project.

Complete Corridor Reconstruction
Reconstructing NY Route 36 from Adsit Street to Webbs Crossing Road with new roadway infrastructure designed to improve safety, traffic operations, and the long-term performance of this major Hornell transportation corridor.
Bridge & Drainage Improvements
Completing significant structural and underground infrastructure work, including improvements involving multiple bridge structures and extensive stormwater drainage systems throughout the project limits.
Multimodal & Intersection Upgrades
Constructing a new multi-use path, ADA-accessible curb ramps, pedestrian improvements, and a new roundabout as part of a comprehensive redesign focused on creating a safer and more accessible corridor for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists.
