Upgrading Critical Water Infrastructure Beneath Kenmore Avenue

As part of Erie County’s reconstruction of Kenmore Avenue (CR 189) in the Town of Tonawanda, Union Concrete performed significant waterline work in conjunction with the complete reconstruction of the roadway. The project required extensive underground construction and coordination to replace and improve water infrastructure within a constrained, heavily developed corridor while integrating the new utilities with drainage, roadway, curb, and pavement improvements.

Complex Underground Construction

Performed waterline and associated underground utility work within a constrained existing corridor, requiring careful excavation, utility coordination, sequencing, and restoration while maintaining access through the project area.

Drainage Infrastructure Improvements

Installed new closed drainage and completed associated drainage modifications to improve stormwater management and long-term roadway performance throughout the reconstructed corridor.

Curb, Gutter & Roadway Improvements

Constructed new concrete curb and gutter and completed pavement and signage improvements to deliver a fully renewed roadway corridor for Erie County.
